Pin backer stamped “Ballou Reg’d”
“The B.A. Ballou company was a family-owned American jewelry manufacturer founded in 1876 in East Providence, Rhode Island. The company was known for producing jewelry findings (components used to make jewelry) and military insignia, including 300 million clutches for the U.S. Armed Forces during the last three years of World War II. After the war, the company began producing costume jewelry under the "Ballou Reg'd" brand, which was in use until around the year 2000.”
